With the idea of fulfilling a mid-year resolution to get out and see more photography exhibitions in Buenos Aires, last week Foto Ruta headed to the Palais de Glace in Recoleta to see the annual photo journalism exhibit of the best photos of 2012. Each year the top photographers from Argentina send in their submissions to the Photo Journalist Association of Argentina (ARGRA) in hopes of having their photos featured in the exhibition. The photos chosen give the onlooker a peak into life in Argentina and a short history of the important events of the past year. In addition to photos taken in Argentina, the show features work from Argentine photographers shooting all over the world. This year the exhibit also features an Argentine photographer, Rodrigo Abd, a Buenos Aires photographer who won first place in the World Press Photo competition for a moving photo he shot in Syria. A great honor for photo journalists, his work is proudly displayed among the other talented photographers of ARGRA.
We highly recommend checking out this exhibit to get some creative inspiration and learn a bit more about this wonderful country. You can visit for free until 4 August, 2013 at the Palais de Glace in Recoleta (address: Posadas 1725, Recoleta).
Tuesday – Friday 12:00-8:00, Saturdays and Sundays 10:00-8:00
**UPDATE** The World Press Photo 13 exhibit is now also open at the same location until 2 August
